Mythology 2.0 Reflection

Ok. Everyone nowadays uses electronics and computers, but how about the Greeks? What would they do with computers and electronics? Well, that is what we are trying to find out. If they had technology and used 21st century talk, what they do, say, and how would they use it? Now, using Fakebook, we have found the answer.

I tried this software that imitates Facebook, and hand picked one of my favourite myths: Jason and the Golden Fleece. It is a story that is about the Argonauts, a group of talented people, lead by Jason, going to search for the Golden Fleece. I chose the Fakebook page to be from Jason’s perspective as he was the main character and the leader of the Argonauts. I also chose Jason because most of the turning points in the story affect and change him, and his personal feelings can be put on the page. The Fakebook page shows how he progresses through the times and changes.

I think that the story made me realize how brave and courageous Jason is in the story, and an in-depth idea of how the main characters felt throughout the story. I also used the features of Fakebook to show what Jason would feel and do with technology. I thought that I learnt a lot about the main character through this way of learning, and I hope you will too by reading my Fakebook!

    1. How I found out about my myth? Well, I read it when I was about 7 as a bedtime story and when I was doing my fake book it came to my mind so I decided to do the fake book on that.

  2. Hi Aiden,
Your intro is really interesting; the summary is especially good in my opinion. Another thing I liked was Chiron's "and you still haven't emailed me." However, you could work on making the events clear in the Fakebook page. Since most of the story took place in the comments, it was a little confusing. Another thing you could do is add more description, because it's not very interesting to have Jason post "Who are you" as an entire post. Overall, though, really good work!

    1. I forgot to add something...
I agree with Ben (above) saying that your page was very detailed. One question: does Jason's cover photo represent the island of Iolcus?

  5. I think that you did an amazing job with your introduction! It hooked me right from the start, and it flowed very smoothly. The word choice in this blog post helped create a vivid image in my mind about the myth. One thing you could have done better is made this blog post with a little bit better flow, as only the first paragraph flows well. If you think this is something you could do better, please tell me!
